Kameraz in Rosebank have a special on this lens on Sunday only - R13,170.00 reduced from R17,100.00.

I saw another comparison between the Tameron, Canon 100-400, Sigma 50-500 and another lens. Will have to find the link again, but it is on par with the Canon and kicks all the other lenses butts. \O

On other photo forums everyone is raving about it. Current price in SA is R14,000.

I had been waiting on a new version of Canon's 100-400 F4, but seeing as rumours of a new version have been kicking around for a few years now with nothing materialising I went for the new Tamron 150-600 (which probably means the Canon will be launched next month =O: =O: ). It's quite a beast of a lens, but a few initial tests with it are extremely encouraging! O/\ O/\

Can't wait to test it out on one of my next visits to Addo \O

Please let us know PJL, I'm seriously thinking about trading in my Bigma for one of those!

The reviews I've seen have all been very good.

I see that lens is going for just over R12k at the moment.
