Re: Thinking of buying a new lens.....
Hi BT, Duke & Flutts
I might well write a full review at some point as I think a lot of people are looking at this lens and wondering if it is any good. But here are some back-garden shots to give you an idea of its capabilities (which appear to be great so far). All shots with a tripod at ISO400 F8.0 in raw format. Also slight exposure to the right, corrected in DPP.
Firstly here's what the zoom range gives you
Here's 150mm
And then in to 600mm
The other point of interest may be between 400mm and 600mm which was the choice I had between the Canon 100-400 and this lens...

Here are full crops of those images

Re: Thinking of buying a new lens.....
BC - it's in combination with an EOS 70D
Which with the crop sensor means it's more like a 240-920mm range
(new kit - when you were asking before about my photos they were mostly taken with a Fuji X-S1)

Thanks PJL
I have been plotting to sell my 550D and 150mm-500mm Sigma for the 70D and Tamron lens since January, but need to hit the lotto first
