To my mind 0- 0-

Both the similarities between the wildebeest and tree, and their differences, draw your eye into the picture. For me, it could be cropped from the left so, as nan says, it's not too centered, and also as she points out, lightening the midtones so the contrast is more stark would make it "pop" more.

But, I agree RP, there is a simple beauty to the photo.

I have always underlined, that I am not a photographer and all the technical stuff is lost on me lol If RP likes it so much, it might just be a personal preference as happens to all of us and has nothing to do with "cuts" here and there or more or less light.

Looking at the photo, the tree on the right blocks the eye from going too far right . The tree in the back ground draws one's eye towards it due to it been in focus, then the marking on the back of the wildebeest draws one eye back to that making one look at the complete picture, sometimes photo's like this work and this is one of them. \O
