Old Africana Books Available

Post by Flutterby »

We received this mail from Gerhard:
Good morning dear friends.
I do not often do this but I have thought it well to do so this time.
A friend of mine recently passed away, he was a book collector and also keen on nature and what goes with it.
I inspected the collection yesterday and saw many gems.
Amongst others of Stevenson Hamilton's books, of Cornwallis Harris and FC Selous.
The original 2 volume set of trees of the Kruger National Park by Piet van Wyk and many others.
The 2 volumes of Francois le Vaillant "Travelling in Africa", the 'Mammals of the Southern African Sub Region" by RHN Smithers, I was fortunate enough to get a copy of the new edition by Smithers and Prof. JD Skinner.
There are a few Jock of the Bushvelds by Percy Fitzpatrick, one of them is the size of a desk blotter with many not often seen drawings.
Many books that would do the Brenthurst collection proud are still in their original packaging.
If any of you are interested in of these books, please feel free to contact me and I will then forward a list which is currently being compiled to you.
Kind regards
Gerhard
