The first pic shows clearly how small these owls are
Too bad about the fire

Lovely light on the heron and the giraffe.
The giraffe is very cute as a baby, but as an adult bull it will develop that kind of ugly head

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
Thanks everyone...
Life has sort of returned to normal here on Grietjie, after the fire last weekend. The smell of smoke still lingers around and the odd log is still smouldering. I'll start today by posting a few more images taken last Sunday of the fire.
Grietjie Berg sticking out above the hanging smoke, last Sunday morning...
Unfortunately, a Leadwood tree paid the ultimate price in the fire. Here is a pic showing how the tree was burning on the inside, the morning after...
Amazing how the hole near the top served as a chimney, causing the fire to rage inside the tree...
And, the demise of the Leadwood. The pic on the left was last Sunday morning and the one on the right this morning...
More wildlife shots next...

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
Some less depressing pics.
Late Friday afternoon at the river, a Thick-knee stopped in for a drink...
On drive this morning, a Zebra having fun...
Kudu bull having a nibble...
Driving below an Elephant up on a ridge...
Until next time, from the banks of the Olifants...
