What's the mozzie situation in Kruger at the moment? Are there many around?

I'm not going to take pills as they seem to make me sick, but the Brat is worried. -O- I must say, we didn't see any mozzies in January, so I'm hoping there won't be any now that it's cooler.

Here's an interesting approach... amazing that it works specifically for mosquitoes and not other insects, but fungus with the genetic ability to create the same toxin as a funnel web spiders sounds very scary. I probably wouldn't ever eat mushrooms again 0:

GM fungus rapidly kills 99% of malaria mosquitoes, study suggests

A fungus - genetically enhanced to produce spider toxin - can rapidly kill huge numbers of the mosquitoes that spread malaria, a study suggests.

Trials, which took place in Burkina Faso, showed mosquito populations collapsed by 99% within 45 days.

The researchers say their aim is not to make the insects extinct but to help stop the spread of malaria.
