Just past H1-6 I spotted a few ground hornbill’s and as usual I stopped and then noticed one of the birds shaking something vigorously.
I love tortoises so this was quite heartbreaking

The Southern Ground Hornbill is South Africa’s Bird of the Year for 2020 and was the focus of a decade-long study by the Endangered Wildlife Trust. This Wild Chat with André Botha, manager of our Vultures for Africa Programme, will showcase some of the findings and share highlights from the fieldwork conducted to gain more insight into the fascinating lives of these charismatic, predominantly ground-living birds in one of Africa’s premier conservation areas.
