I like your nectar feeder Flutts Did you make it Please share
Love the coucals PJL
Spring is definitely in the air and our garden is a hive of activity
The coral tree is in full bloom
Dark capped Bulbul enjoying the flowers
and enjoying the fruit
Red headed finch waiting his turn at the seed feeder
Black collared Barbet at the fruit tray
Followed by a Crested Barbet
Bob was back to build his nest again. He didn't give up on our garden
Bob was not giving up his spot at the feeder for a bishop and the female did not tear his nest down this year so sounds like good news
A Cape White eye enjoying the sweet nectar
We also have for the first time a olive thrush, white bellied sunbird and speckled mousebird coming to the garden. Could not get a pic of them yet

We have just learned something new a few minutes ago.
A red headed finch pair seems to have claimed one of Bob's nest. They went in and are thinking about making it home. I went to go read up about the finch and sure enough they use old weavers nests

Re: Garden Bird Pictures
You posted the two barbet species in the wrong thread, Sharifa. They need to go under the bird of the months.
Seriously - absolutely beautiful those birdies. And I like the Cape white-eye as well.
Lazy red-headed finches.

Re: Garden Bird Pictures
Lovely pics Sharifa!!
Yes, I did make the nectar feeder. I bought a 15mm copper elbow pipe from the hardware, cut a hole in the top of a Powerade bottle and used some silicone to seal it. A bit of wire and wood to make the stand for the birdies and the flower was just a bit of fun.
