Very nice Super Mongoose. I get very excited if I see one in the wild but to have two in your garden - S T U N N I N G O\/ O\/ O\/ O\/

Flutterby - so pleased to note that you have now seen a red bishop in your garden. The photo of the red and yellow together is amazing.

In Constantia Park , about 10km south of where we now stay , we would hardly ever see a red bishop. Now in our new garden we get them every day. The one day I counted 10 scratching around our grass. I do put a mixture of wild bird seed and mielie rice out for them.

Just recently I saw a White-winged Widow bird in our garden on two occasions and then Joan saw it again this morning. Camera is ready and waiting.

This morning, when I parked at church I heard the distinctive call of a Diderick Cuckoo close by. Looking up in the tree I was under there he/she was whistling away. Next moment two dark capped bulbuls chased it away. :-( :-(

My birdfeeder , and especially the nectar feeder , is a popular meeting place around here and a variety of birds come around as soon as I fill them .
Sunbirds are especially fond of nectar , and I have seen as many as 5 of them around it , awaiting their turns .

The following pics were all taken within minutes of each other .
