This must be one of my favourite picnic spots in KNP where we always try to stop and make a breakfast or brunch or lunch.
It's always so peacefull there and not many cars around.

Google Map
The picnic spot and water trough. Don't know if one is allowed to put up a pic of the border post, may be a national key point?

I have quite a few pics of this area, but on a broken drive, which is now mended but in the post!
The windmill near the picnic site!

Now every time we have visited this amazing picnic site we had the honour of making lunch in peace and quiet. No other car in sight. We had the picnic area all to ourselves.
There is also an information centre which you can visit, very interesting.
Toilets were clean and the staff there looks after the place very well. For me this is a must visit.
Will be there again in a few weeks time

Stay atLetaba regular, but only been to Makhadzi once. Must say it was quiet, we were only ones there. What put me off was the thought of traffic to border post, so I always discount the road. Think I will visit this place again in next few weeks on31st Dec.

Yes RobertT i had tne same thoughts about this road but i think we saw only 1 car on this road in all the times we travelled it. I must add that we have never travelled this road during december before. I will be visiting it this time on the 28th i think. On the 31st i will already start enjoying the peace and quiet of tamboti (or baboons, serval and the honey badgers) and i will have a few
