Ja, I think this is the "get out of jail" idea, H., as said before.

Another thing is that SP have budgeted for the building of the "Park and Ride" facility themselves in 2013-14...so it sweetens the deal... O** :O^

H.e. I have been following the whole business from the beginning. My doubt has always been who is going to earn by the whole deal! In my opinion only Sanparks, but only when the contract with "Radisson" expires (in how many years?) and they "inherit" a hotel done and paid for by others! With the difficulties that they are encountering it is a loooong way off, if ever!

My understanding is that SANParks gets a percentage of the Radison turnover as soon as they start trading and if a remember correctly inherit the "hotel" in 20 years :-?

One of the fundamental problems I have with this entire thing is that SANParks are only custodians of our parks, but the SANParks board almost gives the impression that they feel entitled to make development and new vision decisions without public participation or support.

I’m yet to see any public poll that agrees with hotels or other ideas suggested in some of the “new vision” documentation, hence nothing should happen until this can be proven, irrespective of EIA’s etc

Maybe I’m lost

Currently the biggest issue in the south of Kruger is the traffic, which comes from the increased day visitor quotas. Wouldn’t an EIA have been required before throwing an additional 500 cars into Kruger.

Maybe I'm lost again, but this traffic is currently doing more damage than anything else IMO

It is the same with the decisions of the government. As they are elected by the population, whatever they decide is the will of the people that have elected them and as the administrators of Sanparks are chosen by the Government that is elected by the population.....etc.

A pity that you do not have our Swiss system of popular rights. If you collect a certain number of signatures you have the right to ask a popular vote on certain decisions and laws voted by the government. I think it is unique in the world and it works! Also because the population, taken as a whole, has a lot of good old fashioned common sense :-)

The Kanton system Lis, I stand to be corrected!!!

Lis it is noted that this country is the most democratic
country in the world, the people got their total freedom!!

Is this correct??!! I disagree 'cause we leave all decision
making at the voters hand. The moron above will decide
what you need!!!

Ask any legible voter, food or conservation, what do you want??

Ag politics again!!!!
