I don't know if their was a conservation strategy in the 15th century? :-?

Also, contractors have not been appointed for the Malelane Hotel, unless they are very brave, especially since they don't know when they must start work? 0-

Contractors rarely start projects in the rainy season.

Also, Radisson is not erecting anything..they will simply manage! An it is not an hotel, and it is not the world's most environmentally friendly anything...it is quite the opposite! 0*\

Isn't Phaahla meant to stick to rhino stuff? :-?

SANParks challenges lobby group to lay charges
Mon, 09/30/2013 - 11:45
SANParks has responded to allegations of mismanagement from lobby group Against Interference In Kruger And Our Other Nature Assets (Aikona), calling on the group to lay formal charges if it has evidence of wrongdoing on the part of SANParks executive management.

Aikona lodged a complaint against SANParks at the office of the Public Protector, Eye Witness News reported.

“SANParks would like to advise Aikona to lay charges if they do have tangible evidence of any wrongdoing on the part of its executive management, with any court of law,” SANParks responded in a statement. It added that Aikona should not ask the Public Protector's office to use already stretched resources for “frivolous allegations”.

SANParks pointed out that it had received 19 unqualified reports from the Auditor General, generated 80% - 85% of its operating budget and had managed to keep financial management tight in a challenging economic climate.

According to SANParks, Aikona’s primary issue was hotel development. “They have buried their heads in the sand thinking that conservation should still be conducted the way it was in the 15th century,” said SANParks. “On the hotel front, everything has been done according to the book, the environmental impact study, consultations, you name it. There is a paper trail if they need more information.

Dear Mr. Thakhuli, I find your remark rather slap dash and irresponsible!!!
All we are asking for would be 21st century, level headed reply!!!

I seem to find your comments rather centuries old at utterance!!!

Mr Thakuli, do the world a favour, consult with management before
flapping you lips!!!!

You will do the world a favor which may just have some input into
conservation!!!

Who cares how his name is spelled. Shouldn't we get up to date confirmation from the environmental assessment company that in fact all the I's have not been dotted nor all the T's crossed and if he is lying, take it to the press in a big way. The way i understand it not everything has been finalized.

Spoke to Derek Millburn, at V&L architects doing the EIA report for the
Malelane hotel. As we speak he is currently completing the minutes of
the meeting that was held and hopes to send us that still today.

Regarding the above report, Derek is not aware of any approval as yet
for development of this project too continue. The scoping report not been
completed yet.

Derek briefed me that the peripheral zonation plan has been approved by
Goverment. He was surprised that we were not informed about this, rather
sad news I find.

Thank you Derek for the input and dedication you are putting into this
rather hap hazard project presented to you by others.
