Media Release: All National Parks Remain Closed During Level 4 of the Nationwide Lockdown

02 May 2020

South African National Parks (SANParks) understand that the public miss their national parks, unfortunately, national parks remain closed despite the downgrading of lockdown restrictions to level 4.

Access by all members of the public to the national parks, therefore, continues to be prohibited notwithstanding the terms of Regulation 24 of the Disaster Management Act, which allow for walking, running or cycling between the morning hours of 6 am to 9 am within a 5km radius of your place of residence.

"Notwithstanding......." You cannot do much Kruger from 6:00 to 9:00 O**

All those new rules have not been thought through enough 0*\ What percentage of the population goes out doing exercise? It would have been better to allow something, which could help to start the wheels of the economy; also a small thing, but one that helps the country. Done under control, with the social distance and disinfection and all the rest, not the four cats that go running in the morning 0*\ Why less than five km from your residence -O- Why not four or ten, what difference does it make :-?

So they sit with your money for months earning interest on it, then they cancel on you but keep your money and earn more interest on it, you can get your money back but they will penalize you if you want/need your money or can no longer go. Good business to be in pretty much like the banks. O** O**

The Government should be empathetic and help people, not take advantage of a difficult situation :X: 0=
