Or someone had to take a minibus taxi :O^
We told our gardener and domestic worker to stop coming to work two weeks ago for that very reason. Never mind that they might carry the virus into our house, I don't want them getting sick because they are forced to use a full taxi to come to work.

If there were more like you, Fluttie, it might change the situation, but you are probably within a very small group of people :-(

The park is expected to reopen on 1 August
3 hours ago

EZEMVELO KZN Wildlife has this (Tuesday) afternoon confirmed that the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve will be closed from tomorrow until the end of the month.

This comes just days after the Nyalazi Gate closest to Mtubatuba was closed over the weekend owing to members of staff having tested positive for Covid-19.

THE HILLTOP RESORT IS CLOSED
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife has decided to, with immediate effect, shut down Hiltop Resort situated inside Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park. The closure of the resort is a precautionary measure and is also in line with the advice received from Ezemvelo’s medical team. The advice follows the covid-19 positive test results of one of the Resort Managers who, as part of his duties, interacted with all resort staff as well as the guests. The Resort will probably open on Thursday, 07 January 2021.
The guests who are currently at the Resort have been informed and they will be allowed to self-isolate within the resort provided they are willing to cook and do house-keeping for themselves.
All guests who have bookings during the affected dates will be requested to transfer their bookings to Mpila Resort which is within Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park or Mantuma Resort at Mkhuze Game Reserve. They will also be allowed to choose any other Ezemvelo Resort should they prefer not to transfer to either of the two resorts indicated above. Ezemvelo will also be amenable to requests of re-booking to a different future date or refunds.
All three main gates Memorial, Nyalazi, and Cengeni gates will remain open and the public is encouraged to visit the park and make use of the Centenary Centre to buy food as the Hiltop restaurant is also closed.
For further information regarding your booking, please contact our Central Reservation on 033 845 1000 or through email at bookings@kznwildlife.com.
Alternatively, you may contact the Resort Manager, Ms. Tiny Major on 076 481 5539.
Kind Regards

It is not written when it has closed, but if it was yesterday to open already on Thursday, 07 January 2021 sounds a bit early :-?

EZEMVELO's HILLTOP RESORT TO REMAIN CLOSED
07 January 2021
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife has decided to extend the closure of Hilltop Resort until 15 January 2021. The Resort was initially closed Saturday following the covid-19 positive test results of one of its managers.
It was then feared that, because of the nature of his duties, the affected manager might have exposed a number of his colleagues including the guests that he interacted with. On Sunday,3rd January 2021, Hilltop Resort was closed and the District Health Department officials descended on the Resort and tested 15 staff members who displayed certain symptoms associated with covid-19
On Wednesday, 06 January 2021, the results of 3 officials out of the 15 officials tested earlier returned with one covid -19 positive result. As a precautionary measure, a decision has been made to wait for all the outstanding test results as most of the outstanding test results are of the direct contacts of the official who tested positive. All officials that are waiting for their results are already in self-isolation.
In the meantime, the resort will continue with the process of sanitizing all facilities as well as public places within the resort which started on Tuesday. So far all public facilities including staff accommodation have been sanitized. Only a handful of chalets still need to be sanitized as they were occupied when other areas were being sanitized.
All guests who are booked from 7th to 15th January 2021 will be informed of the latest development and be given an option to transfer their bookings to any of Ezemvelo resorts or reschedule their visit to any future date. Refunds will be processed for those who may decide against either of the options recommended.
The Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park remains open to the public every day between 06hoo and 18h00.
All those who may want to check the status of their bookings during the affected dates are requested to contact our Central Reservation during working hours on 033 845 1000 or through email at bookings@kznwildlife.com.
Alternatively, they may contact the Resort
Kind Regards
