Re: Nyari Rustic Bush Camp
So minimum R15 000 maximum R20 000 to sleep in the bush in your own tent and supply your own chow
The guided walks and drives would need to be very special at that price
The no fence story is a major plus, but still too expensive for most methinks

Re: Nyari Rustic Bush Camp
I would rather go to Tsendze which only cost R210 p/n and if I want a morning walk pay the R300 at Mopani
That is really expensive

Re: Nyari Rustic Bush Camp
I'd go to Botswana for similarly-related prices!
So SP are trying to cover Luxury hotels/lodges vs Kenya/Sabie Sands, and self-camping vs Botswana, for example!
Eish....
Thanks, Heksie!

Re: Nyari Rustic Bush Camp
Now make your choice...
This last Bots trip that iNdy went on, roughly 10 days and if I remember correctly it worked out at about R7500 per person (iNdy will have to confirm these prices), but that was for ALL accommodation, border crossings, food and fuel. The only thing not included was the booze.
Now how do SANParks justify R2500 per person for two nights, and then as BC said, you still need to supply your own food????

Nyari rustic camp would cost me R15000 for 2 nights and I could bring 1 friend.
Gqoyeni, described by BJ below would cost me R10800 for 2 nights and I could take 3 friends.
Please check the Gqoyeni link below and tell me where you would rather go

Bushveld Jock wrote:Now my wish to visit Gqoyeni bush lodge seems very affordable. I can stay there in a lodge for 4 nights inviting 7 friends plus your own field guide for walks and cook. Wonder if there is any water included because on my last 4x4 trip with SANParks no water, no wood, no shower - at least a long drop.
GQOYENI BUSH LODGE
This bush lodge consists of 4 two-bed units with en-suite bathrooms.
The large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge unit has a magnificent view of the Black Mfolozi River and also overlooks a deep pool in the Gqoyeni stream near its confluence with the Black Mfolozi River.
A cook is available to prepare food supplied by guests, and a Field Guide conducts walks into the surrounding Bushveld. Please note:
The bush lodge is not fenced and while you may enjoy game viewing from your accommodation, please do not walk beyond the vicinity of your unit.
Visitors need to bring their own wood or buy wood from the Curio Shop.
Please check the Gqoyeni link below and tell me where you would rather go

Re: Nyari Rustic Bush Camp
daylight robbery - I am going to Botswana for 16 days for under R6000.00 - unfenced camps - and no traffic jams. I cannot see how this price can be justified - sure it would be an awesome experience but certainly not at those prices.
Re: Nyari Rustic Bush Camp
Are these the rustic camps that Sanparks were talking of setting up or is this just an HR project?
