2012:
2019:
Mopane is the last Main Camp to be built in Kruger. It has its own unique stone building-style, with no camping available. The adjacent Pioneer Dam is the main scenic feature and makes for breathtaking views and attracts many animals in the dry months. Game can be sparse away from water sources, but there are many of these in the area, as well as a large road network. Big elephant tuskers and rare antelope such as tsessebe are often seen, along with abundant bird life.
What to look for:
Elephant, tsessebe
Kori bustard
Apple leaf tree.

Re: Mopani Rest Camp
Do we have to bring a lock with us ? or do we just leave the fridge as is and hope that nobody "steals" our food/drinks when we are out for the day

Re: Mopani Rest Camp
They don't have latches, if I recall from last October! One can turn the fridges against a wall during the day if there are baboon problems, but rare at Mopani

Re: Mopani Rest Camp
What's happening at Mopani lately???????????......................................I know NOTHING!
The restaurant area"construction in progress" but it looks almost deserted now
Can't even get any "liquid refreshments" at the bar, just hope it's restored to it's full glory soon....
Experienced no baboon problems this weekend
