Re: Lower Sabie Rest Camp
As I no longer see the Lionnes, I decide to concentrate on the two other Lions. The Zebras that flee in the riverbed are going right towards them and both the Lions, including the male, get in position to catch them.
But the Zebras change direction, the Lionness has to make a u-turn to follow them and she loose time and speed. She realizes she will not be able to catch one and cease the chase.
The male also returns empty-handed but walks proudly.

I notice one Zebra that does not seem to have moved since the beginning. Maybe it as told by a ranger "when you see a Lion coming to you, don't run, stand your ground". At least, its life is save.
When the dust dissipates, I see that a Zebra had been caught by the first Lionness.
In a desperate effort to escape, it manages to stand on its legs and even drags the Lionness for several meters.
But the Lionness holds her grip and with more than 100 kg on its neck, the Zebra can't go far and fall again.

Re: Lower Sabie Rest Camp
Thanks Lisbeth and Richprins for your comments !
I have some connection problems, that's why it is so slow...
The second Lionness arrives, tries to help and chews the ear. She must realize it is not the way to kil a Zebra, is wondering how to be more efficient and holds the head of the Zebra with her feet.
Eventually, the male arrives too and all three manage to put the Zebra on its side...
... and the feast immediately begins.

As we have to be in Maputo in the evening, we don't wait for the Hyenas and Vultures to arrive. That was an amazing sighting (the second time I saw a hunt, the previous was back in 2012 in Etosha...), and all the family was of course more than happy with their Kruger trip.
Two last pictures, 20 minutes after, there is no much left...
