:-? Trying to remember, but I think dam wall is a little higher than hide. -O- So I think the whole area till the sand road that passes would be under water before it overflows. -O- -O-

But how does that make sense then? O-/

Maybe the spillway is lower?

Think spillway is roughly at height of windows of hide. Don't think hide will be completely submerged.

Ok, I spoke to the man who built the dam. The spillway is roughly 2m below the level of the dam wall, so the water shouldn't go over the wall. If there is unprecedented inflow, however, it will, and too bad so sad. O-/

I wanted to go and have a look, but the S51 was closed like all the other sand roads.

Thats why I dont go after Dec in Summer as I cant drive my beloved Sand Roads ..Dont like sticking to tar roads apart from H7 ..We are in fact taking a risk to go to Shingwedzi and Punda in Nov but its the only time for a crack at the Pennant Winged Nightjar displaying in the evening along the S99..Mahonie Loop and the ground is still getting wet then
