To us as well Unfortunately we did not notice that

Here a view from one of the many loops where you have breathtaking views into the Mlambane river



and along the way a group of kudu males was very hungry.



It was great to see the bush so lush and green and for sure the kudus loved it too that way



so everywhere they could stop for their favourite food which was this bush which looked like weeds. Nearly each animal we saw started to feed on this plant first



which is so completely contrary how I feed as I always leave the best for last.



A bit further down on this road we got stuck in a smaller traffic jam with lots of OSV’s and finally we detected the reason for the fuss a not very healthy looking lioness



as we could not discover any other lions we continued as it was simply too full and we also did not want to disturb the lioness but for sure we stopped for elephants



who were roaming and feeding in the riverbed.





For sure we also stopped for a group of redbilled woodhoopoes out of which at least one sat long enough still so that we could capture same in the beginning also with a starling

and also a lot of redbilled hornbills were around as well.



Then it got again quiet and only at Renosterpan where we always drive the small detour to the waterhole we discovered a dabchick on a small tuft of grass right in the small pond



and only after a second or third glance to the bird I also noticed suddenly a tiny head popping out beside the one of the adult



on top a further small chick was already swimming in the pond



and the longer we watched the more tiny heads could be seen.





All of them were so cute and once again Timon took picture after picture and we were so happy to have seen the dabchick itself plus the chicks on top were simply amazing.





After quite a while the adult left the nest and left behind even four cute fluffballs whereas one already followed the adult so in total five chicks were around.
