1st March 2020

This being the last day of our quick 3 day visit we planned to make a full day of it. The plan was to do a few kilos down the S25 to look for the lion that we had heard the previous evening, then take the S108/H5 back to the tar, then follow the H4-2 to the S130/S137/S28 (Dukes waterhole loop) then up to Lower Sabie for breakfast. From there we would decide the next route..

So first along the S25, and straight back into the Wild Dogs.. and they were still hassling the Zebra.

We asked the other car there and it seems that they had just made a kill. A small buck was chased into a no name water hole, they had gone in the water and pulled it out. We had just missed the kill be 5 minutes.

The dogs were still circling the water and seemed very interested in something that we could not see.

They would go back and forward looking into the water but did not go in.

We never found out what they were looking at :-?

The only evidence we got of the kill was this dog that raced past with the remains

After about 30 minutes they started getting restless and took off up the road.

This was our cue to move on, so we carried on along towards the S108.

^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ SN!

The dogs certainly hang around in one spot for a change!

Amazing how often their prey run into water, it has happened for many many decades! ..0..

After leaving the dogs we headed on down the S25, where we spotted a Hyena running alongside the car, it would make for a good hunt story as the Hyena ran into a herd of Impala O** , but the Hyena was just trying to get out the car’s way =O:

There was plenty game along the S25/S108/H5 loop and one of the angry Biyamiti enelphants
