Ok, just a while to go!

This won't be that simple, as the dreaded leachy is active on these forums, and he plays a part in the story...Maybe I must leave him out?

He intimidates me!

Right!

It seems the source of the first part of the TR has remained accessible, so here we go! (Check page one!)

(Just to refresh memories, this is a Sept. 2010 report with the following characters:)

Myself: Seasoned expert traveller, bon vivant, and well-known socialite in higher circles. The responsible one on the trip.

Leachy: Seasoned. Posing as Section Ranger for Pafuri as well as grumpy driver of his own vehicle, HMS Herpes.

GvR: Seasoned overland explorer, fisherman, diver, hunter, and businessman with underworld connections in the nebulous field of latex and yellow glove smuggling. Owner of the Good Ship Kapoen, our chief vehicle. Ex owner of a pair of Zeiss binoculars.

Destroyer: A lovable but bumbling young preacher student, who enjoys beer, Italian kisses, breaking things and injuring himself.

All the above are Bulls supporters, so inherently good people! \O

Day 3 Part 2.2

Back at Klopperfontein Dam

Image

The same scene as usual in the dry months, with the elephant bulls having a good time, as with the day before!

And a video or two to show how close we were to the action....you can hear the water splashing...utter peace and quiet!

Dest: "Is that tree not in the way of your second video a bit?"

RP: "NO! It is artistic! "

Dest: "Ah."

RP: "What do you mean 'ah'?"

Dest: "Err....Ahhhtishoo! Excuse me!"

Diary of Section Ranger leachy: "At least this has taken so long the heat should be off by now, regarding the little field ranger salary mishap...although it seems to have led to some strikes elsewhere...not my problem...I am also on strike! Viva!! Toi-toi'ed at border post today, but got hit in the left leg by Mozambiquan vehicle in transit. Fortunately felt no pain, and vehicle came off worst. Have decided not to kill the fat bald one using a rifle, but have set cage traps using Castle Light as bait...will relocate him to the South and glue an imitation rhino horn onto his nut. Have ordered tranquiliser gun just in case, but he sleeps most of the time anyway..."
