A Hot-diggity Dog Flutter!

Jhb - Lower Sabie

We left Jozi just after 12.30am and, barring one incident (when I was pulled over by the police near Benoni for no apparent reason -O- ), we had a pleasant drive and arrived at Phabeni just before 5am, second in the queue. There was great excitement as we waited for the gate to open. O\/ Being a Sunday we had expected lots of jeep jockeys but the queue behind us was actually quite short, and no JJ's! O:V

Impala was our first sighting, then this lovely African Green Pigeon.

Next up, a Red-crested Korhaan.

Nyamundwa Dam was full and we found the normal fish eagle and hippos. The rest of the S1 was quiet and we decided to take the S65.

There was nothing much to hold us up on the S65 so it was back onto the S1, and we were soon at Skukuza where we stopped for a leg stretch, and for me to perform my obligatory moth-saving duties. O** This moth was lying on one the steps to the ladies so I picked it up before it got squashed, and put it somewhere safer. ;-)

We had had some nice rhino sightings during our first drive.
