Skukuza/Lower Sabie Area
Still at Renosterkoppies.
RP was looking very comfortable in his sandpit.
Three little piggies.
This little piggy wanted to drink with the big boys...
...but they soon showed him who was boss!
After sitting at the waterhole for about 2 hours we had to start heading back to camp, via the S112 and H1-1. As we arrived at De La Porte a herd of ellies had just finished drinking and were about the cross the road.

A lazy buff was lying right next to the road.
And so it was back to camp for our last night in Kruger, with one last sighting for the day...a Verreaux's Eagle Owl.
The next morning we headed straight to Phabeni Gate with no big sightings to prolong our stay.
It was another amazing trip!!
4 wild dogs sightings totalling 47 dogs....just unbelievable!!
9 lion sightings totalling 41 lions...can't believe we saw more wild dogs than lions!!
3 leopard sightings...always a treat!
No cheetahs this trip, but we'll be back!!

As nana says!
Maybe the buff was trying a new defence by lying under the bridge!?
RP happy indeed!

RP in his sandpit
I like the ellies marching. So typical African, I think.

Busy catching up on your trip and sure will spot some doggies (only on 11 April). Its a pity we missed you by one week, but at least can caught on what happened on the south eastern side of the park. We were in Pretoriuskop until 4 April and before that at Shingwedzi.
Great sighting of HB and lions plus leopard near Lower Sabie.

Snake and python in the bathroom must have been scary. Also the only camp I saw a snake (black red and white bands) coming out of the bathroom at the campsite. From then on I made sure walking with a torch at night.
What a wonderful trip up to Tamboti and night visitors to end off the day. We stayed at Maroela end of March and wondered why we only see spotted hyaena and no badgers or genets. While we were there lots of worms in the trees and then you got the moths.
The H7 can be very boring, but when you think there is nothing the dogs rocked up. Great sighting of lions, leopard and dogs.
On our first day we found two overseas tourists stucked in the drift near Muzandzeni picnic sight. Had to pull them out as the wheel had no grip with the car properly imbedded on the sandbank. Must have been more accessable when you where there after the heavy rains the last week of March.
