Anyway, what interesting shots through the leaves...the males look at you differently to the way the females do! O-/

I can imagine all the cars!

Does one open the camp gate oneself there? -O-
Yes, you have to open the gate by yourself there just like at Bateleur as well X#X

A pride of lion was lying wide spread and on top very good visible

Image

for all the passengers in the cars along the road side.

Image

In the sun it meanwhile started to get unbearable hot but some of them were still lying in the open

Image

and some a bit farer away but it must started to get uncomfortable for them in the heat. Some were grooming

Image

whereas the big daddies managed to grab the best resting places for them already and then there was not only one male lying but more together.

Image

Needless to say that already many safari vehicles from outside piled up at that sighting and all passengers were extreme happy to spot not only one lion but many of them and on top that good visible so in these vehicles there was always a big fuss

Image

but gladly that did not bother the lions at all

Image

and also all other cars who just entered the park must have been happy to spot as very first animal a pride of lions. We, however, left only to stretch our legs a bit during a short stop at Crocodile Bridge camp for the very last time already and on top I wanted to pay a visit at the craft shop at the entrance gate and I even made a find there.

Needless to say that we then returned to the lions, parked at a different spot then previously and allowed us a bit more time with them – A lioness stood up and joined the others in the shade as it obviously started to get uncomfortable for her in the heat.

Image

From time to time they lifted their heads and took a look around but finally also the King had enough from the sun and

Image

joined his mate and even put his paw on the back of same.

Image

When there are so many lions around you gladly have luck that there is always one that is willing to lift its head

Image

and when one fall aside again another one was willing to look around.

Image

Bum on bum!

Image

Meanwhile more or less all the lions stood up and walked deeper into the bush and farer away from the road and whilst his mate already left him he still stayed but

Image

after a while he obviously must have felt lonely and also joined the others nearly out of sight for us and that was then also our signal to leave.

Image

to be continued......

0/* Was gone the whole month of May, so had to go back to pg. 10 to continue where I left off. Was certainly well worth it! ^Q^

The ellie, rhino, buffs in the mud wallow pics are great, wild dogs - always so special, and your incredible number of bird species is awesome. My favorites include the trumpeter hornbill (have only seen 1 :-( ), the waxbills are adorable, paradise whydah O:V , guinea fowl chicks, and the black coucal. ^Q^

You also had some serious lion sightings - well done! 0() 0() 0()
