RP, Pumbaa, Flutters and BC :ty: :ty: :ty: :ty:

Moving north from the Hyaena sighting, it was quiet until close to Shingwedzi when we spotted this huge herd at the river...

Then another first for me, never before have I got a shot of two Steenbok together...

Just before Shing, this Daggha boy...

Nice herd! \O

Also nice to see many big trees still on the Shingwedzi after the floods! ^Q^

It was on the cold side when we arrived at Shingwedzi, so we decided to have breakfast inside. The service was unfortunately not the best, but the good food made up for it. \O

Luckily the service was slow. While we were waiting I saw a small Kingfisher in a bush just outside the window. I rushed back to the car to fetch my camera, and got back just in time to get one shot of a Pygmy Kingfisher. Not at all a shot worth bragging about, but it is my first pic of one...

After breakfast we headed towards Kanniedood, it was dead at first. All I saw was this Emerald-spotted Wood Dove...

Then the silence in sightings was broken, watch this space... ;-)

Toko, that was one of seven similar sized herds that we saw. ;-)

H.e, they always smell good upwind... O**

pooky, thanks! \O Not sure whats next, will have to check... :-?

BC, I've seen Pygmys before, but this is my first pic of one. :-)

Back on track. As we rounded one bend we found ourselves head-on with a male Leopard. I'll let the pics do the talking...

Excellent, indeed! X#X

The Shingwedzi River is without a doubt the best place to find leopard BY YOURSELF in Kruger...all the way from below the Kanniedood dam wall to Tshange, in my actual experience over 25 years! ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^
