In exactly three weeks time Spots and I will be off to our favourite place on earth again.
Can't wait till the day arrives, so I thought it might be a good idea to heal the impatient
anticipation with a photo countdown.
We'll be flying out in the evening on the 2nd October - this time from Berlin as this was
the airport where we could get the cheapest flight from. We'll be flying Turkish Airlines
which means we'll have a stop-over in Istanbul - not one of my favourite airports as it is
extremely busy and people seem totally disorganized running around in circles which makes
you think of a beehive rather than a place where humans roam
The next morning we'll change planes at O.R. Tambo (after a bit of a waiting time...
and hopefully having a quick green ribbon meet ) to complete the last leg of our journey
for that day - to Upington. It's the first time ever that we stay a night there but there is
no point in trying to get to the Kgalagadi when you only land at 5.15 pm.
On the 4th we'll do our shopping for 14 nights in the park (note to myself: you must do
the shopping list and send it off to pick'n'pay).
Our itinerary:
4th to 6th Kalahari Tented Camp
7th to 10th Kieliekrankie
11th Nossob
12th to 15th Grootkolk
16th and 17th Kieliekrankie again
Not my favourite order and camps and amount of time in camps respectively, but that's
all we were able to get. Yet, I still hope to change one or two nights to Urikaruus, especially
those from KTC and / or the first batch of KK. But even if that doesn't happen, we'll still be
happy enough to be back. Even more so since we don't know if we'll be able to get back in
2014. Christmas would be the only option time-wise, but we're totally unsure if it will be
weather-wise. Us pale Europeans can't cope with heat too well.

Re: Let October arrive!!!
Day 21
Certainly something to look forward to - blue sky, white clouds and the red sand.
Also, with 6 nights at KK in total we'll have plenty of chances to see something like
that again. -O

Thanks all you lovely people for enduring my impatience -O
nan, not the honeymoon tent, just a normal for 2 people.
But I asked for no. 6 or 7 as per Duke's recommendation
Amoli, meeting Duke and Sharifa at the airport.
Do you think, they'll accept a note from a teacher at your work?
