Last year in November the park was stuffed with lions

Lovely Safran sighting and I like the bateleurs too \O
Ja, we had a few trips when we would stumble over lions everywhere. But things changed.
At least when it's not the hot, hot season. So, I'm back to appreciating them again.

After our day trip to Nossob, we didn't move for the next three days as we were going into the second half of our 9 night stay at Grootkolk. Rather than driving, we enjoyed the action right in front of us. As usual the birds made for great entertainment - and there was a lot of unfinished birdness around. lol

Especially the bully weavers (watching their behaviour they seem anything but sociable  ) are great fun to observe.

You are never short of birds at Grootkolk, if there is a bird bath. Didn't they say that it would not be allowed anymore to give water on the ground to the birds :-?

Thanks Flutts O0

Lis, bird baths in general - not matter if on top of the fence or on the ground - are actually not allowed anymore. But when we arrived that plant thingy was sitting on a corner pole as always. I just put it into the "garden" because the lions had cleared all the fenced of that dish one night and I didn't want to risk for them to steal it in another. 0'

Oh, and my bird bath was nothing compared to the fruit skin and seeds the people in the unit we moved into after one night gave them.

RP, like I said, bird business is done now lol
