Interesting stuff, Michele, but some of it a bit too technical for me O**

Flutterby - I did experiment with some layering but photos were just too busy. I preferred the single shot..just as I saw it...:)

As you all know I am not the best with Travel Tales ..I never seem to finish them so I think I will just continue here and add a tale or two from our recent trip to KTP and Augrabies.

One of our highlights on this trip was photographing scorpions at Bitterpan. We saw scorpions in all three of the main camps but it was at Bitterpan that we saw the most. We had at least 10 ten running around in our braai area. Out with the UV light and the fun and games began. Doug was the torch bearer and I was the photographer . We were extremely careful with where we put our feet as there were the nasty black ones around as well as the not so nasty brown ones. The black ones scurry around like crazy but the brown ones often just sit still and play dead. The brown ones are therefore easier to photograph . I used my macro lens and just hoped for the best. The UV torch makes them even more scary .... ..0.. What a wonderful way to spend the first night of the New Year.

Parabuthus correct :) The pan was not flooded but did have a bit of water in it ...apparently hyenas were playing in the water that morning. We always miss the action at Bitterpan. So I consoled myself by photographing the scorpions. :)
