Firstly, he had never heard of this app, and he is a real tech/smartphone whizz.. :-?

We loaded it and sat back to watch the hundreds of sightings rolling in, as the Park was crammed to the brim! 0()

But only 4 or 5 sightings that morning so far... --00-- -O-

We didn't see much speeding at all, but the number of vehicles was ridiculous...BC had to park in the entrance road at Tshokwane just to get to the loo. At Nkuhlu the cars were parked double all the way, so if one wanted to leave and your car was the one in front, bad luck... :O^

We met BC at Hlangulene, and he had just come from a big lion kill at Mazithe Dam, where there were 80+ vehicles. Surely there would be multiple postings on LS?

But no, when we got signal there was none... :-?

The sighting only popped up that night... 0:

So myth busted, in our opinion.... O**
Correct RP \O I also paid special attention to this and speeding over the last 10 days.

Spotted around 20 guests speeding (over 60km'h) but this was all due to being clueless about "timing" and rushing to camps and gates at closing time.

Did spot over 40 SANParks staff/staff family in private vehicles going faster though at all times in the day. I always find it amazing when I arrive at Skukuza just before gate closing and there are people driving all over the place, including heading down the H1-1/H11/H4-1/H4-2/etc. Why ?

Also watched out for it. Most of speeding I saw was staff in private vehicles, then delivery vehicles and the tourists.
Also saw about 15 vehicles over the 3 days with kids sitting on drivers laps steering. 0*\ 0*\
At congested sightings the biggest problems were people stopping on wrong side of road blocking traffic trying to get through, this included SOV's.

Went to the park for a weekend trip end of June. Only evidence of sighting communication was from the OSV. When took the Napier rocks turn off an OSV followed us but within 1 km started flashing lights. He asked us to move as there is a cheetah sighting on the tar road. At first we thought it was that they don't want to drive in our dust but after catching up found them at a cheetah sighting. Same thing in April near Pretoriuskop in April. Nearly no OSV for 3 days and suddenly lots at a leopard sighting early morning.

No, I'm afraid, Technology in the national parks uncontrolled
will be the downfall of said!!! Having said this, the same will
be very convenient in the conservation and planning for the
existence of any natural beauty. The public visiting need to be
curtailed these electronic media privileges.

We need to understand why we supposedly are so vehement
about creating these areas that need protection. At the same
time we need to use every and any tool at our disposal to do
such. For scientific purpose I can well imagine this app very
appropriate. This may just be the very reason why I despise
the GPS app of recent times.

Hi folks, hello!!!, I desperately find a great need to experience
a life,,....uncharted,...

I'm afraid but when technology comes to task we need to be
rather and very discerning. Not only for animal sake probably
more so for our own sake!!!
