Pilanesburg April 2007

Post by Dzombo »

Hi All,

In the next of my "Trip report that's not a trip report...."

We stayed at Kwa Maritane this time. And I have to admit, it wasn't as good as Bakubang. Nothing wrong with the accomodation itself.
But I really don't like that drive out into the reserve from KM gate. The road itself was in poor condition. It meanders along the fence for much too long in my opinion - too much view of the road and traffic. And the game viewing was really poor. Aside from a few Klipspringers, and the odd Wildebeest, we didn't see much along there.
So I ended up driving to Bakubang Gate which just added an unwanted 15 mins each way to any game drive.

But all in all, it was a good trip. Had some really good Rhino and Ele sightings.

Thanks for your comments guys. Am no longer feeling ignored ..... 0/0

Amoli - The giraffes weren't that near......big lense.
With small kids one needs to see big animals. Birds don't have the excitement for them. 0*\

iNdlovo - I plan to do a similar "not trip report" for all my visits to Pilanesburg. So, you will see more.

Poplap - thanks
