After posting my first TT due to some arm twisting I have decided to catch up some older TT's starting with a surprise trip to Mkhuze in February 2013 to celebrate my SO's birthday.
I had told the family we were going to a game park but not which one .We left early Friday morning traveling up the N2 .About an hour and a half into our journey suddenly the Landy went bing , bing bing and lost power .I pulled onto the side of the road and opened the bonnet .What could it be we had serviced the Landy recently and sorted out the starter motor .We checked all connections and nothing seemed wrong .Oh darn we phoned my Brother in law who advised us to try drive back very slowly and go straight to the local Landy expert to get it diagnosed . We managed to start it and it ran very rough as we did a u turn and drove back taking about 2 hours to get back we went straight to the garage who put it on the diagnostics .Strange it only shows a crank position sensor error he said .ok pop it on the ramp .They look and sure enough the wire on the plug was loose .He pushed it on and tests .We drive around the block all sorted over a loose wire .... We got back on the road and drove to Mkhuze arriving just after 2PM and checked in to our tent .

So after the bumpy start we unpacked the Landy quickly we got back on the road for our first drive arround .
Not having kept records the TR will follow a rather general format .
Our first sighting was one we seem to start many trips on .
We also found a fellow in his PJ's who refused to turn and look at us so we got a bit of a bum shot ...
The tall one was geting a good cleanup
Further on a shorter one was resting in the Shade
And then we found another alert one that refused to look at us .
We had completed a small loop arround and traveling back through camp we found some visitors
and
We decided to drive down to the closest hide and back before closing

Yes Mkhuze\Mkuze\Umkhuze seems to have three spellings for the name ....Richprins wrote:So this is Mkhuze?

Yes they were all over the campsite .At the time we were there the only predator was two Cheetahs that had been released so there is no fences\was no fences around camp and they were very relaxed .Since our trip I believe the two Cheetahs were poached but they have released Lions into the reserve as well.Toko wrote:Nyalas all over the place there

Arriving at the hide we found this Egret and a secret Hadidha
A Gymnogene arrived and left:
The only other movement was the Egret
It was getting late so we headed back to camp.
Just outside the Hide we found what the Gymnogene was seeking :
We arrived back at camp and started the fire ...
