Just a few snaps from our very quick trip to Cape Town.
Light cloud cover over the Free State.

The Twelve Apostles covered in clouds
At this point my battery went flat and I had checked it the day before!! So I had no camera for the rest of the day and had to rely on the Brat taking pics with his cellphone. SO was very happy...he thinks I spend far too much time looking through a lens!

Re: Table Mountain National Park and Surrounds
We made a quick stop at Mariner's Wharf in Hout Bay, where there were loads of seagulls and a seal swimming between the boats in the harbour. The Brat took a video of one of the locals feeding the seal...he put the food in his own mouth and then leant over the water and the seal plucked it from his lips! Unfortunately to get the video off his phone is impossible!!
These are all the Brat's pics.
There were a multitude of proteas flowering along Chapman's Peak Drive, but the wind was howling and it was freezing cold so we didn't hang around too long.

I take it, you didn't get to go up to the top of the Table Mountain that day,
looking at the cloth clogging it.

Thanks nan! It's all very well having these fancy phones that can do a million different things, but a simple thing like copying a video off it is impossible!!
Mel, the cloth didn't actually cover Table Mountain, but it was the wind that kept it closed that day.

Lovely Flutterby,
I also should plan another visit to Cape Town - It is already far too far away

Great to see all those fab pics from the province where I was born. Last time I was at Hout bay was when SO asked my parents to get married to me. Lovely place and pics and I hope you got to the top of Table Mountain or visited Cape point.

Re: Table Mountain National Park and Surrounds
Thanks for visiting BJ! Table Mountain coming up.
The rest of the first day was spent at the V & A Waterfront - having lunch, visiting the Two Oceans Aquarium, doing a bit of shopping and then meeting friends for dinner.
The next day we woke early to find no wind or clouds, so we got ready quickly and headed for Table Mountain. The view from our balcony...the Twelve Apostles behind us.
Even though we were almost first in the queue we still had to buy tickets, so had to wait while those who had bought online tickets went ahead of us! Eventually we made it to the cable cars and were soon on our way up.
The guide told us to let go of the handrails as the floor was about to start rotating, but most of the occupants were foreigners and didn't understand so we were soon all squashed up against each as they continued to hold on!!
The last time I went up Table Mountain was about 30 years ago, so I couldn't believe how fast the new cars were! And it was quite a relief to get out...they really do pack you in like sardines!
