The Sunday we decided to visit town O**

We started at the brewery for breakfast 0*\ 0*\ 0*\ 0*\

After breakfast we explored a few more pubs 0:

At this restaurant the little aliens saw this old tractor

Entertaining stuff, but it kept them busy :O^

All the shops and restaurants are build around this square where in the middle stands this monument erected by Paul Kruger in memory of 5 "boere" that were murdered by the British soldiers on a farm nearby called Ararat. This monument were first build on the farm itself and then later moved to the place where it stands today

For those interested in the history you can google "die slag van naauwpoort"

I like history a lot, but has always hated war, even if that is what history is mostly about

Actually they were killed not murdered......there was a war going on!

Starting the day with a beer 0*\ I hope it was a kind of late breakfast 0'

Very interesting, Alpheus!

All sorts of things go on in Clarens, I've heard! Didn't Harry also go drinking near there recently? :-?

Nice and relaxing there around 10am...! ;-)

The Sunday turned out to be a long day and we eventually left the last pub after 10pm.

The Monday we drove to Bethlehem to fetch the medicine for the kids. On our way back my mother in law showed us part of the Lesotho highlands water project.

This is the Ash river outfall just outside of Clarens. This pipeline is 19km long underground from Lesotho

Notice in the background the diameter of the concrete ring used for this pipeline

Amazing engineering indeed.

This is the end of our short trip to Clarens. Thank you all for flying with us.
