28 Lazy Days (1) iMfolozi & Hluhluwe*
Re: 28 Layzy Days (1) iMfolozi & Hluhluwe
Back to Mpila camp, on the way a family of zebra with a little one in the fading light
Eventually a less kitchy view for an after-sundowner stop
Camp routine: Braai at the end of the day.

Day 4 - Mpila
3/28 days already done and day 4 is a very slow one. We went from picnic spot to view point to hide to view point to picnic spot ... you get my drift
The day started with coffee at the closest view point.
And we were driving around and found some birdies and other bush dwellers
Crested Barbet was posing for another photo
Then a silhouette of a Long-crested Eagle, also a visitor to the northern section
A Brown Snake Eagle with the sun in front
Red-headed Tawny, they are quite common there
And an Oxpecker perched on a pretty zebra

Day 4
We left the pretty zebra and found more rhinos
Towards lunch time a Secretary on patrol
and two pretty zebra on the main road
We had our lunch picnic in the "backyard" of an entrance gate, there is a table with bench in the shade and not crowded at all.
Things went a bit hectic when the lady on gate duty was running out of her gate office because of
a harmless Spotted Bushsnake

Day 5
Next morning we leave Mpila and go for Mphafa hide in the western part (where Bushcraft usually finds a lion). The hide is at the top of a rocky cliff that overlooks a waterhole. Quite idyllic, but often crowded
Van Balen's Aloe on the rocks
The tame Mocking Cliff-chat came closer
And down in the dry riverbed some antelope approached the pool
Cute little one
We left the hide soon to the other tourists who probably were to spend the whole day there equipped with books, knitting stuff and the like
Nix wie weg

Day 5 - towards Hilltop
This bunch was well behaved and willing to pose
A last vista from the low level bridge, this time with hyena having some fun.
I think they don't scavenge or hunt as they are fed by camp guests and have all the time to relax
We are on our way to the Hluhluwe section and will travel all the way through the reserve

Day 5 Hluhluwe
On our way up towards Hilltop camp we found some birdies at the other bridge crossing the Hlhluwe River
Green-backed Heron
and a pair of Hamerkop
Some nice vistas along the way
He was having his siesta next to his buffalo kill and did not came out
