Re: New EIA Malelane Lodge
A point that irks me and put forward,...
A remark forwarded,- This venture, once complete, will become precedent
for further exploitation. There was mention of Phalaborwa and so forth!!
All outside the scope of endeavour, Skuks, Phala and who really cares, as long as
my little venture becomes real and tangible!!
.Gov need to take serious cognizance of where their priorities lie!!!
Where will this all end??Toko wrote:once the hotel is established and in operation, shares will be handed over to the local communities

Re: New EIA Malelane Lodge
Local communities were never mentioned as financial shareholders over the last 4 years of this brontosaurus development, as far as I can recall.
This is new, and presumably the golden arrow to gaining a new justification and political clout regarding DEA and "investors"...

RP, .gov need be educated sometime about life in general, especially conservation!!,Richprins wrote:Ja..but it is meant to be a loan, effectively
Life is not always about take, sometimes life requires all about give!!!,....
I seem to believe that Sanparks have a bitter pill here, to be consumed, yet
they still need to establish some mild disorder, cause for reasoning!!!

Re: New EIA Malelane Lodge
Agreed, H.!
The thing about "financial shares" is that once the project fails, the shareholders have to pay!
In fact, legally, I don't think a parastatal like SANParks can dish out "financial shares" to anybody, as they are not on the SA stock market, nor any of the "investors"...all a load of BS.

Indeed RP,...I have no other reason but to believe this
is all about finance and big bucks, hence the only option
we have in defense of heritage, more so international
heritage, would be to prove a situation of financial loss,
society are entitled too,...

Agreed, but surely this only cons those who are rather slow............... or have no idea how things work in this country at the momentRichprins wrote:

I fail to see how this isn’t becoming embarrassing

It's sheer bloody-mindedness...SP shall never lose face, end of story...no matter the cost to taxpayers.

Of course, the community trust will have to pay back over 10 or 25 years (from dividends? )Richprins wrote:Ja..but it is meant to be a loan, effectively...they want something back!
Community investment obviously the new way to go!
