It was a special, albeit gruesome spectacle. This type of sighting is a once in a lifetime event and is the reason we keep coming back to the Kruger!aat wrote:BT,

Day 3 Tuesday 11 November : Maroela. Afternoon drive.
Back at Maroela, a flock of Retz's Helmetshrikes came through the camp. We've only seen this bird once before so I was pleased to get some pictures.
For the afternoon drive, we headed up the H7 and S36 until it was time to turn around and go back to camp.
There was nothing unusual but I did find some things worth getting the camera out for.
Tawny Eagle.
Eles were drinking from holes in the river bed.
A view of the escarpment in the far distance. The Cessna 210 (aeroplane) just happened to add interest (for me) to the picture.
Zebra Mom and foal.
Red Crested Korhaan.
Wahlberg's Eagle?
Blackbellied Korhaan.
Scrub Hare.
After an interesting sunset
I took a stroll around the camp looking for subject matter and found some Moths and a Foam Nest Frog.
