Re: Rietvlei Nature Reserve through Greenies' Eyes
A few pics from yesterday's quick visit.
Early morning widowbird.
I think they've had an ostrich explosion...they are everywhere!!
Swainson's Spurfowl
There were plenty of mini zebras around!
A huge herd of eland.
Black-headed Heron
Red Hartebeest
We saw lots of jackals but only managed to get a pic of one.
And that's it, till next time.

Re: Rietvlei Nature Reserve through Greenies' Eyes
I'm only happy to get up early for the bush!
Many moons ago we went to Kruger with family friends and as usual we left in the middle of the night. As the sun started to come up one of the daughters of our friends asked "what's that pink stuff in the sky?". My dad was horrified that she had never seen the dawn before!

The cheetah population in Rietvlei has exploded with Kiara having given birth to 6 cubs.
Here she is with 5 of her cubs.
Here she is joined by three other adults - not sure of their names.
All six cubs with Mom but with their backs to the camera.
