Lots of birdies, Pumbaa!

Lovely to see so much water in the Shing.

That kingfisher is so rare...it looks quite different!

The last years we had luck with that kingfisher - Indeed not that often around

The kingfisher looks like the other ones, it only has different colours, that's why it's called grey-headed

But for us nevethekess an incredible sighting

The area around Shingwedzi and the river is always an incredible one

Thos eyes are indeed bizarre but for sure very special

At least the ever present impalas could be captured





and we had once again a great time in watching them and never get tired in photographing them. At least the sun was shining and it was simply a fantastic day



although the rest of our drive until we reached the Tshange causeway was still extreme quiet besides a couple of grey hornbills





and as always we stopped again on the causeway and due to the few cars in that area we do always have the causeways all to ourselves and can stop on them as long as we want to admire the view which is always amazing but gladly each year different.



This year the pond was filled up and the hippos had a great time there,



a hammerkop tried its luck with fishing



and the ever present crocodiles were hanging around there as well.

A nice surprise was then the sighting of a village indigo bird which we already spotted already at exactly the same bush during a previous visit.





For sure we stopped at the Tshange look out to stretch the legs a bit and then continued our drive with more waterbucks and red billed hornbills



and for sure with the amazing river views



and to Timon’s delight with another fish eagle.



A must stop is always at Red Rocks and here we always spent a lot of time with viewing, observing and discovering any birds



and another advantage of the far North is once again the few traffic as also here we are always alone during the period we do stop there



and although already often admired the Red Rocks view is never boring



and today we even could photograph a lot of different butterflies there.
