We had 2 braais on the weekend
I have worked out the best way to do it now.
So both were excellent meals

Thanks guys \O

So my new process is as follows:

Put 6 lumps of firelighter in 2 rows of 3.
Take some newspaper and roll into sausages. And play "join the dots" between all the firelighter pieces.
Pour the liquid fire starter on the newspaper.
Build up some restaurant grade charcoal around the fire starter and newspaper.
Light
Once it's burning nicely add more charcoal.

Forgot to ask...do you get charcoal briquettes there?

Yes we do.
But they aren't as good as Charca in SA
They were the ones I struggled with the very first time I lit the braai.
I have now ordered 3x 12kg bags of the restaurant grade lump wood charcoal.
