Re: Guesthouses In Kruger Camps
My favorite Guest House in Kruger is the 'No 26' at Tsendze camp ...There are no harsh electric lights that remind you of a hospital ICU ward...and the nearest Shop, Restaurant , Petrol Station , in Camp Paved roads and manicured lawns and swimming Pool and offices are 8 KMS away in Mopani Camp . Best of all are the TV Programs that are viewed and listened to at night after a hearty Braai at 'No 26'. My favorite programs to watch and listen to are 'The Side Stripe Jackal concert' followed by the 'Scops owl Mystery series'..Scary little sounds!! and the best one to listen to is the 'Elephant Branch Breaking extravaganza' followed by the 'woodwork series' produced by the leopard rapper..I mean rasper...Cant wait to get back to 'Guesthouse 26' in 3 weeks @ R250 per night for 2 which includes the option of showering under the stars ..Kruger's finest establishment for those with discerning tastes..For R4000 (1 night at Melville Letaba you can stay here for 16 nights a NO Brainer of note)

Another beautiful day!
Something you only see in the Mopani area is aircraft contrails, the air corridor for flights over the Indian Ocean must pass overhead.
Back at camp, some birds.
Tawny Flanked Prinia.
A new one for me, a Green-capped Eremomela (I think).
Puffback.
A Redbilled Hornbill with an interesting lunch.
And a Redheaded Weaver.

Just before we left for our afternoon drive, the SO called me over to look at "this funny Ant".
Which wasn't an Ant at all but an Ant-mimicking Spider (Myrmarachne natalica)!
Then it was back to camp but the day wasn't over. We'd been chatting to Rodgers earlier and we asked him to come and get us if he found any Owls.
He found these, a really rare sighting for us, Barred Owlets!

Back at Tsendze a Common Sailer Butterfly (Neptis laeta).
After breakfast we were interrupted by some Arrowmarked Babblers...
That had a parasite in tow.
They were rearing the Striped Cuckoo chick from hell!
A couple of twitchers had persuaded Rodgers to let them visit the camp. When I beckoned them over to show them the Cuckoo and Babblers they were so excited they were visibly shaking! They kept telling me that I was so fortunate to be staying at Tsendze - which I was, of course!
Here's a Toko in reasonable light, Toko!
And a Laughing Dove.
