One thing that Sanparks has been good at: Enlarging the protected areas \O ^Q^ ^Q^ I like what they have done at Addo ^Q^ ^Q^

Great elephant/lion interaction O/\ O/\

After the break and enjoyment of seeing the lions being put in their place we did a few more loops in the north of the park including Nzipondo and then down to Hapoor and back.

Nzipondo produced more cats O\/ O\/

They were rather far away and generally very flat so we decided to head to Hapoor and back again later to see if they would get up and move. Some mud pack was being applied at Hapoor

Image

We also found a close black shouldered kite along the way back

Back at the Nzipondo lions (Jack & Jill) there was a little bit of movement from time to time so we at least got to see them looking like lions instead of logs

However despite the best efforts from several herds of zebra who were wandering dangerously close to them, they wouldn't get going properly so we called it a day \O

Lions are lazy by nature, they have to be hungry to show some interesting movements ;-)

You are almost always lucky enough to see lions. I suppose that you know the Park so well that their whereabouts is not a secret to you anymore \O

lol about the ellies bullying the lions.

Now, Niklaas and Witwarm are totally unknown names to me. Where do those two come from?

They are from Karoo NP. There was a bit of a swap-around of lions just over a year ago... those 2 came in from Karoo, the 2 big males in MZNP got moved to Karoo, whilst Roy & Nomad were moved from Addo to MZNP.

Josie's 3 boys have since been moved to Madikwe, and I've literally just heard that Normal and Zwaai have been moved out of Addo as well but I'm not sure where to yet.... which leaves only 9 lions in Addo now :-(
