First sighting inside the park was a martial eagle, at least I think so. No way that it would turn around
and the first stop was of course Nyamundwa. Luckily there was a lot of life around even if it was late morning. The hippos were all over the place, inside and outside the water and also the waterbucks did not only sleep
Also a Woolly-necked stork had arrived. First one on this trip

Re: 2020 - Summer At Hazyview
The little waterbuck seemed to have lots of fun and was very cute
"Get going!"
I know, an overload of hippos but I have never seen hippos behaving like this
Finally, also the waterbuck calf had got tired
To be continued............

Yay, malachite AND giant kingfishers!
I'm sure RP is a joy to be around , sounds like he put forth a lot of effort to help you enjoy your trip even more. Thank you 'bro.
The dam is gorgeous with all the greenery and activity. LOVE the waterbuck youngster , can you imagine being a newborn and seeing all these different kinds of animals/birds for the first time?
Last day in the park

Very nice, Lis!
Yes, a martial eagle1
Great hippo studies. The pic below shows how animals can recover from horrific injuries!

Re: 2020 - Summer At Hazyview
to Alf, Pumbaa, Sis, RP and Flutterby!!
My destination for lunch was the Golf club. After having heard so many rather positive things about the restaurant I thought it was the case to visit it.
On the way, there wasn't much to see and the little there was, was mostly feathered ...like always
Finally a Hoopoe, that did not disappear when I stopped the car
Not far away a BEAUTIFUL juvenile carmine bee-eater - overload, because I just loved it
You don't have to look at all the pictures of the bee-eater

Re: 2020 - Summer At Hazyview
The Golf Club was not quite as I expected it, apart from the view, which wasn't bad at all
The service was non-existent, I had to get up three times to get some attention:
1. To get the menu and to have the table cleaned (they just don't understand that a dirty table is not acceptable) The tables were covered by a kind of plastic/fake leather cover which was broken in many places and they did not even put a mat on
2. To get a fork and a knife
3. To get the bill which I paid going out, if not there would have been a fourth getting up
There were only two other tables occupied, but the waitress found it more interesting to chat in the kitchen or over the counter without turning around once.
The whole place had an air of squalor about it and the occupants were no better. While I was there a young couple arrived and the first thing that the girl did was crossing the lawn passing a BIG sign saying "Please don't pass, this space is only for members playing golf" or something like that. Maybe she wanted a closer look at the water
Somebody must have scared the life out of this poor monkey
Finally, she found the courage to come out from her hiding place
On my way home
A Wahlberg's eagle very far away
