Totally right but during the time we are in the park normally it is not that full except weekends
Yes, we were surprised to even were blessed with two sightings so shortly after the other
We were that lucky with that hunting pic although the scene took place quite far away but luckily in the open

We definitely could not complain
Although we are indeed not lion hunters we are always happy when they do come across

Re: A cat or a lifer a day keep the doctor away
For us it meanwhile got far too full so we carried on, turned around but had to pass the traffic jam again to return back to camp but now one of the lions was visible extreme close to the road so we simply had to stop again
and now it was also revealed at what one of the lions was constantly nibbling…..
and on top from time to time we saw a head in the high green grass so it was after all unclear how many of them were around.
Now even another one was lying flat on the ground and tried to sleep a bit
but with so many cars around same even opened from time to time his eyes
and on top sat up in the end.
Now as it was already late the traffic jam cleared up a bit and we had a pole position at the lions but
also had an eye on the clock as it got later and later
and the lions now more active but the one was still nibbling on the warthog and now it was in fact time for us to leave this awesome sighting and again we had such luck in seeing within such a short time twice lions.

Re: A cat or a lifer a day keep the doctor away
So we drove slowly back and still had time to enjoy the masses of general game which was around plus the cattle egrets between all the legs
and that little zebras foal was willing to pose long enough
for a couple of shots.
To our delight there appeared even a family of ground hornbills and same produced soon another traffic jam that short before the gate and
back in camp the braai was lit in no minute and we enjoyed the time on our verandah whilst same was going and even got visited by a huge elephant bull who wanted to pay a visit to the marula tree close to bungalow No. 9.
After another adventurous day we fell in bed like logs and dreamt already from new adventures.
Sunday, 9th February 2020 – Crocodile Bridge
Explored roads: H4-2 – S28 – S107 - S137 – S130 – H4-2 – H4-1 – S29 – S122 – H10 – H4-2 – S28 - H4-2
During the first days of each Kruger visit we always do jump out of the bed full of anticipation what the day might bring well the longer the trip gets the slower we get out of the bed….the anticipation is always the same. First we spotted again those masses of zebras and wildebeests out of which the young ones were doing already a running competition.
Finally we turned into our beloved S28 as yesterday we skipped that road due to the lions and we stopped for a Wahlberg sharing a tree with a vulture.
Then it got quiet until we stopped behind a safari vehicle and another car and we were about to overtake until they stopped us and asked whether we saw the lions only a couple of meters back. Well we did not see anything but drove a bit back but we did not know how far they were neither were exactly they were lying and we were fully debating about how long we shall drive back until finally a head popped out of the high grass extreme close to the road
and then another one.
Also here the grass was extreme high and when they were lying flat on the ground which they did when we for the first time passed them they were invisible. Luckily we finally found them although only their heads were visible.
to be continued………

Lions morning and evening
Yes, coming in January/February we probably lose a lot of sightings because of the tall grass
