We met grey louries
and a bateleur in a tree
and simply enjoyed the views along that road
we meanwhile deemed ourselves in the last one third of that road and we had a lovely sighting of a waterbuck lady
who dared to cross the river although the water was still a bit deep as another waterbuck lady who waited for her already on the other side of the river must have encouraged her.
Then suddenly Timon got quiet and stared for a couple of minutes in a tree onto the other side of the river – a wonderful farewell gift in form of a huge male leopard.
At first side same was not easy to spot and Timon only noticed same whilst the leopard moved from one side to the other and then on another branch a bit higher in the tree
and luckily for us he settled again there
and now he even looked a bit around
whilst Timon started once again to fire away.

Re: A cat or a lifer a day keep the doctor away
Needless to say that we settled as well and enjoyed his presence very much
whilst same got extreme lazy but fortunately allowed a couple of lovely shots whilst same did his best to pose like mad and to satisfy us.
In between now a couple of rain showers also came down but same stopped nearly immediately again and that was not the rain which announced itself already earlier. From time to time the leopard looked a bit up in the tree and there we only noticed an impala which was hanging one level higher on a branch
but same was not hungry at that stage
and preferred to pose for us a while longer.
Then same yawned and that must have been the signal
to climb one floor up in the tree
now side by side with his kill for us now same was extreme hidden and the feeding position must have been extreme uncomfortable for him.
At least from time to time the leaves split and allowed a couple of clear views onto
the feeding leopard.
Then all of a sudden same grabbed his kill and jumped down the tree out of sight for us and disappeared with his breakfast completely.
Wow what an incredible sighting during the last hours within the park and we had same all to ourselves and only after the leopard disappeared another car arrived – Yesterday we unfortunately missed a leopard but today we got a more than nice compensation with this fantastic sighting which we had on top all to ourselves.
to be continued with the final installment………

A great sighting and an impressive species of a leopard

Such lovely shots, Pumbaa!
Difficult to pick a favourite, but the leopard certainly posed wonderfully!
I like the crocs in the nice light too!
Not nice to be so hot in the morning already!
I wonder what cuckoo that is?

It's a common cuckoo

Luckily the leopard moved as otherwise he would have stayed a bit too hidden
