Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park
Now for some very rare green summer pics!
Prinsadam came down to the Lowveld in February last year for work, during the floods!
He picked me up in his silly Suzuki Special Number One Car, and off we went to Hazyview, for a change it wasn't raining!
We arrived at our destination, Hippo Hollows!
After unpacking, I went for A Walk, why not!
the grounds are huge and magnificent, with self-catering units all over the place, plus the main "dormitories", where we stayed, to be seen in the first pic!

Some splendid views over the Sabie River!
Each unit has a bird emblem, sort of like Sirheni camp, or is it Bateleur?
A pretty flower:

Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park
Soon I was at the main restaurant/complex, where I sat on the verandah and had absolutely nothing to do for a few hours. So I played a game of Brewers and ordered buckets of on my brother's tab!
The river was PUMPING!
It is actually a bit scary, and I kept monitoring the slowly-rising water level...
https://youtu.be/EMvwZRod0u4
The old walking bridge across the river had washed away, one can see the cables still stretched in an arc, catching debris!
It was getting quite busy, as the busloads of tourists arrived, and I remember some Germans coming to sit virtually on top of me, Auslanders have no sense of private space!
There were some hippo in a sheltered bay on the other side that they were keen to see!
Poor Prinsadam at work on a Sunday afternoon!

Indeed nice views onto the river, Richprins
That is the reason why we always travel on our own, Richprins - We need our private space as well

A loadshedding supper there, quite lovely, but pizza burnt...I didn't mind...
And next morning at dawn in at Phabeni! (Haven't been up at dawn for 10 years! )
Plenty of mud for tracks!

A detour on the S1 for flood damage!
One doesn't often see baby guineas, at least I don't as I presume the breed in summer?
Nyamundwa chock-full!
