;-) \O

Like a good husband Toko provided Kate with enough food on a daily basis. ^Q^

“The female leaves when the oldest chick is 19 – 34 days old, after which the chicks reseal the entrance.”

Soon after I noticed that both parents were now feeding the chicks. I could clearly hear the chicks in the nest as soon as one of the parents appeared in front of the slit to feed them. O\/

I reckognised Toko by his uneven tail feathers ^0^

and Kate's, like a real lady, always neatly intact O0

After feeding time the nest was cleaned and I could not help but laugh when time and again the waste was unceremoniously dropped through the opening. =O:

One morning on hearing Toko and Kate’s persistent calls I instinctively knew something was wrong  I ran outside and as I looked up at the Palm tree my heart missed a few beats. O-/

My desperate attempts to scare off the intruder by throwing stones at him was to no avail, the tree was simply too high. O/ 0*\

After what felt like a lifetime, the intruder fled. Toko and Kate remained in the vicinity of the nest for a while, and then as if nothing happened, continued with their parental duties. O**
