Interesting the first lions there, Flutts. They seem to be all young ones, noses still pink, all alone! ..0..

All sorts of action that morning! X#X

Mel wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 11:24 am That was pretty successful, even if you didn't get photos of the leopard. But watching him stalking and hunting probably still got the adrenalin pumping lol

Quite a lot of buffs there indeed O:V O:V O:V
The adrenalin was definitely pumping!
Lisbeth wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 11:48 am Your patience ought to have been paid a little more, but at least you saw the leopard and it was "doing things" lol

Also the lions were moving around, which is far better than the usual flat ones ;-)

Yes, at least we saw the leopard. \O

We headed back to camp and decided to get a drink on the deck. There were some ellies near the low-level bridge.

While enjoying the view, I noticed someone looking at me, and we seemed to recognise each other at the same time...it was Bushcraft! They had just arrived after driving up from Toti. We said hello to The Cow and 2 of the girls (Hawkeyes had stayed at home), and then we had a quick catch-up. Unfortunately, they were on their way to Skukuza, and as we were leaving the next day, we couldn't organise a get-together. We didn't chat long as they were tired and keen to get to camp and relax, but it was great to see them again.

For our afternoon drive, we decided to head up the H10 and back on the Mlondozi loop.

A hippo out of the water at the low-level bridge.

A buff in the water.

Pied Kingfisher.

Zebbies.

We finished the loop with time to spare so decided to head back down the H4-1. The big buffalo herd was still there.

A decent-sized ellie.

Purple-crested Lourie.

We went back to Sausage's tree and parked there for a while, only to see Bushcraft and Co. approaching. I had told them about our leopard sightings, and the lure of finding them was obviously greater than their weariness. ;-) Unfortunately, we didn't find him and soon had to head back to camp, but we did find the same 4 lions that we had seen in the morning.

For dinner, we had ribs and chicken and made the most of our last night in Kruger. :-(

Funny that you should run into Bushcraft and not very likely either

That's a lot of buffalos ^Q^

A Purple-crested Lourie O/\

A lot of food for the two of you or did you have guests for dinner lol At least I suppose that it would come in handy for lunch the next day.

Thank you for re-sizing \O

You two really had quite a number of wonderful sightings, and just the excitement of what the leopard MAY do is such a rush. :-0 :-0 The Lourie is gorgeous [InLuv] . So happy for your family time, both at sightings and in the more quiet evening hours. Precious and everlasting.

They had just arrived after driving up from Toti

We left Toti the day before, but had been up since 2am freezing our butts off in Lothair.
