Clue - The North holds the most Mopane trees in the region.

The Mopne leaves are not tasty at the end of winter that's why my northern ellies eat other trees in August as well

elephant populations from northern KNP eat more grass (~40%) during the dry season than do their southern counterparts (~10%). The wet-season diets of elephants from northern and southern KNP include similar amounts of grass (~50%), because elephants in the south, but not in the north, ate significantly more grass during this time. Male Lions are generally regarded as being lazy, however, they share something in common with Polar Bears that makes them behave as they do.

Anyone care to guess why this is?

Does it relate to the male lion and polar bears method of hunting called "still-hunting" ?

I'm looking for the reason why they utilise "still-hunting" and it's to do with their physiology.
