An old English name for the Green Woodpecker RP. \O The name derives from it's laughing like calls.

Other old names for them are...

Hickwall.
Wickwall.
Woodwall.
And Yuckle.

I think we might have the best hidden barbet chicks ever! :-?

The mom and dad are always around the nesting log, but I have never seen so much as a feather of a chick -O- . This morning, there were suddenly 3 Crested Barbets flying around and making lots of noise. Could a chick fledge so quickly, without having lots of practice first?
