Europeen Green Woodpecker
and this one few days before (jully)

Great Spotted Woodspecker
exactly at the place where there was a nest (hole)... that gardeners cut this spring

An old English name for the Green Woodpecker RP.

The name derives from it's laughing like calls.
Other old names for them are...
Hickwall.
Wickwall.
Woodwall.
And Yuckle.

I think we might have the best hidden barbet chicks ever!
The mom and dad are always around the nesting log, but I have never seen so much as a feather of a chick

. This morning, there were suddenly 3 Crested Barbets flying around and making lots of noise. Could a chick fledge so quickly, without having lots of practice first?
